Tracy Amiot, 48, Thief River Falls, formerly of Crookston, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at her residence in Thief River Falls.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday August, 31 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, with The Very Reverend Vincent Miller presiding. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Crookston.

Visitation was held with a prayer service on Thursday, August 30, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston. Visitation was also held prior to the Mass on Friday August 31.

Tracy Lynn Abeld was born on December 19, 1969 in Crookston, the daughter of John and Carol (Carlson) Abeld. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston and confirmed at St. Dorothy Catholic Church in Dorothy, MN. She attended school in Crookston graduating from Central High School with the class of 1988.

On December 20, 1991, Tracy was united in marriage to William Amiot at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston. With Bill’s service in the United States Marine Corps they made their home in California. This union was blessed with two wonderful children Christopher and Ashley. They returned to live in Crookston in 1995. Tracy worked at different locations including Hugo’s, The Sub Shop, home day-care, and Villa St. Vincent. In April 2011 they moved to Thief River Falls and Tracy began work at Digi-Key.

Tracy’s passions included SpongeBob SquarePants, shopping, scrapbooking, stamping, crafting and spending time with her family. She had a heart of gold and always tried to make sure everybody else was happy.

While living in Crookston, Tracy enjoyed attending Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

Survivors include her loving husband Bill; children Chris Amiot and Ashley (Michael Berry) Amiot; and furbaby Morgan all of Thief River Falls; parents, John & Carol Abeld of Crookston; siblings Lisa Thorson of Grand Forks, Rick Abeld of Crookston, John Abeld of Crookston, Tammy (Billy) Abeld-Dickerson of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jeff Abeld of Crookston; mother and father-in-law Rod & Marilyn Amiot of Crookston; brothers & sister-in-law Chuck (JD) Amiot of Colorado, Jim (Melanie) Amiot of Rockford, MI and Lisa (Matt) Taylor of Mankato; grandma Alice Normandin; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by grandparents Stella & Woody Carlson and Richard & Evelyn Abeld; grandparents-in-law Maurice Normandin, Eva & Omer Amiot; aunt Shirley Carlson; furbabies Pebbles, BamBam, Cody; and many other relatives and friends.
