Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 7, 2018, in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Warren. Visitation was held after a Rosary and Prayer Service, on Thursday, in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Warren; and one hour before Mass. Interment at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery in Argyle.

Roger Dale was born on July 5, 1955, with his twin brother, Richard, in Warren, to Conrad and Margaret (Novak) Kostrzewski. He was raised in Frenchtown of Argyle, and spent his childhood raising cane with his siblings and cousins. He attended St. Rose Elementary and Argyle Public School.

Roger completed basic training in the US Army and, after his honorable discharge, returned home and worked at Valley Construction and drove beet truck. He was briefly married to Bev Maurstad and had a son, Kory, and moved to Warren, where he worked for the Public Works department.

At the age of 22, Roger started working for the city, taking care of just about anything that needed to be done. From plowing snow to wastewater treatment, Roger willingly lent a hand wherever it was needed for 40 years.

In 1993, Roger was set up on a date with his sister and sister-in-law’s coworker, Kimberly Lossing. After a healthy courtship, the couple was married in 2003. In addition to gaining a wife, Roger gained another son, Shawn, whom he helped raise.

Roger’s greatest joy was his family; he loved his sons and enjoyed staying young at heart with them, along with his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed spending time camping, fishing, riding his motorcycle, cars, and collecting Elvis memorabilia.

In 2016, Roger had an accident at work that put him on medical leave. In spite of the many struggles that followed, Roger always kept a positive outlook and never complained. Even in his last three months spent on a ventilator, Roger was faithful, joyful, and grateful for all the prayers of his family, church, and community; may his memory be blessed.

Roger is survived by his wife, Kimberly; sons, Kory (Carla) Lubarski, and Shawn (Jessica King) Lossing; grandchildren, Kody and Nolan Lubarski, and Annaleese Rentz; siblings, Shirley (Gordon) Ellefson, Conrad (Bev) Kostrzewski, David Kostrzewski, and Peggy (Harry) Hultgren; aunts, Jewel Kostrzewski, and Jeanette Knutson; and many nieces, nephews, and their children.

Roger was preceded in death by his infant twin brother, Richard; his parents; and niece, Kayla Kostrzewski.
