Sally Carlson, 60, of Strandquist, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

The Memorial Service to celebrate Sally’s life was on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at First Lutheran Church in Middle River, with Pastor Larry Myhrer officiating.

Burial was at the Mission Covenant Cemetery near Strandquist.

Sally Marie Anderson was born on December 19, 1957 in Roseau, daughter of Roy and Emma (Borreson) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at United Lutheran Church in Gatzke. Sally attended Gatzke School until 7th grade and then went to school in Middle River where she graduated in 1975.

After graduation Sally attended the St. Joseph School for hair in Grand Forks, ND. After a few months Sally moved to Memphis, TN where she got her license in cosmetology.

On February 28, 1976 Sally was united in marriage to Lloyd (Glen) Carlson at United Lutheran Church in Gatzke. To this union two children were born, Melissa and Michael.

Sally’s first full time job was at Natural Way Mills. She then went to work at the Middle River School as a custodian. After a few years she went to work at the Roseau school as a custodian until MS forced her to retire early. Sally also worked as a waitress and sold pull tabs part time in addition to her full time jobs.
In 2001 Sally met the love of her life, Robbie Carlson. They moved out to the family farm where they have lived since.

Sally loved living on the farm and helping Robbie with the cattle. She loved to be outside and took pride in her yard and gardens, but her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and her great granddaughter.

Survivors include: the love of her life Robbie Carlson of Strandquist, Children; Missy (Dustin) Keller of Lindstrom, and Michael (Nicolle) Carlson of Thief River Falls. Grandchildren; Cody Swenson, Tabor and Emma Keller, Ariella Kingbird, Hunter Connolly and Zachary Carlson, Great granddaughter; Kinsley Swenson. Sisters; Rose (Eugene) Olmstead, Jean (Tim) Bahr, Peggy (Barry) Skoglund, Robbie’s parents, Edward and Janice Carlson; Robbie’s sister, Lori (Todd) Jenson and their daughter Kayla Jenson; aunt, Mae Borreson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends.

Sally is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
