Her senior quote was “A Live Wire Is Never Stepped On”, which describes her perfectly to all that knew her.
Shortly after high school Dorothy was united in marriage to Marlin Lindemann in Holt. To this union four children were born: Mark, Debra, Karen and Lori. They made their home in Grand Forks, where Dorothy ran a café. They then moved to St. Paul. Marlin passed away at the age of 34 on June 30, 1962.
Dorothy’s family moved back to Holt where they lived for a year, then into Thief River Falls, where she met Charles Morkrid. They were united in marriage June 27, 1965. The family moved to Oslo. To this union one son was born, Scott. Charles passed away in the fall of 1976. Dorothy remained in Oslo where she raised her children.
Dorothy met Charles Doppler and they lived in Minneapolis until 1988, when they moved to Baudette. There they built a beautiful lake home where many great family memories were made. They lived there until 2002 when they moved to Thief River Falls.
Dorothy loved to play the organ, gardening, baking, and canning. She was a great cook and made many memorable meals for her family. She loved to watch WWE wrestling and Wheel of Fortune. Most of all she loved and cherished the time spent with her family. She had a great sense of humor and many laughs were shared over the years.
