Cory Helm was the overall winner, top male runner and winner of the male age 36-49 race division at the 2019 Run RiverFest 5K held Thursday, Aug. 1.

The 2019 5K course started and ended at the Greenwood Trails parking lot. The Rehab Authority-sponsored 5K Run/Walk and 1K Fun Run combined to draw more than 155 entries, with proceeds from the event benefitting the Kahlhamer Family.

Kaitlin Lund was the top female runner with a time of 23:34, edging Ashley Beito for the top overall female spot as well as the top spot in the female age 20-35 division.

Other female age division winners included Jerzie Finstad, who repeated as champion of the 19 and under divison with a time of 25:03; Shannon Nelson, winner of the age 36-49 division with a time of 27:01; and Amelia Sedra, winner of the age 50-plus division with a time of 27:01.

Joining Helm with age division wins on the men’s side were Isaac Mauch, winner of the 19 and under divison with a time of 19:28; Tate Sorvig, winner of the age 20-35 division with a time of 21:07; and Kevin Iliff, winner of the 50-plus division with a time of 26:03. Mauch and Sorvig finished second and third overall, respectively. Winners of the 1K Fun Run were Kenzie Reynolds and Baylor Bakken.

All race entrants were eligible to win a kayak. This year’s kayak winner was Karlee Jorgenson.
