The Thief River Falls  girls hockey team dropped both of its games at the 2022 TRF Thanksgiving Classic held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25-26 at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.
The Prowlers dropped a 7-1 decision to Northfield, a 2022 Class AA state qualifier, in Friday’s opener.
“Good team – we need to be better, make quicker decisions,” said Thief River Falls Head Coach Brett Johnson. “Need to get more shots on goal.”
The Raiders netted three first period goals, with all three coming in the first 10 minutes. Megan Snyder scored a short handed goal at 2:27. Ayla Puppe scored the first of her two goals in a short-handed opportunity at 3:31, and Emerson Garlie scored a power play goal at 9:45.
Northfield’s lead stood at 3-0 until Isabelle Stephes found the net on a power play for the Raiders at 10:45 of the second period. Ashlyn Paukert scored with 1:01 left to play in the second period to make the score 5-0 in favor of the Raiders.

West Fargo regained the lead with a goal by Kaimbre Gourde with 4:43 left in the first period, and it added to its lead with a goal by Mia Gervais with 3:16 left in the opening period.

Maggie Seeley recorded 23 saves for West Fargo. Hamre  finished with 35 saves for the Prowlers.
“Thought we played better than we did Friday night but we just fought the puck all afternoon,” Johnson said. “We made some costly turnovers and it cost us. We did a better job of putting pucks on the net.”
The Prowlers were back in action Tuesday night for the annual Border Battle game at Roseau. Both the boys and girls varsity games were slated to begin at 7 p.m.
