Pending board approval, School District 564 is excited to announce that Kyle Anderson will be the next head boys hockey coach.

Anderson has strong ties to the community of Thief River Falls. As a Prowler alumnus, he was a three-sport athlete. His successful high school career led him to Lake Superior State to continue his academic and athletic career on the ice.

Anderson played for the Lakers from 2000 to 2004. Anderson and his wife, Carrie, have four children, Cooper, Marley, Spencer and Weston.

Anderson has had multiple coaching positions and a myriad of experiences related to hockey and hockey development.

“It became very clear during the interview process that Kyle is not only passionate about hockey, but extremely passionate about leading the Prowler Hockey Program,” said Chris McLean, Lincoln High School activities director. “Kyle will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table while teaching the importance of being a great team on and off the ice.”
Anderson succeeds Tim Bergland, who resigned as the Thief River Falls head boys hockey coach earlier this month. Bergland had been head coach since the 2007-08 season.
