Cars and trucks of all ages, makes and models were on display Saturday, Aug. 2 for the 24th Annual Street Wizards Cruise-In Car Show. This year’s show featured more than 140 registerd cars and trucks. That total does not include cars shown by Street Wizards members.

Awards were presented in several categories including the popular hand-built Wahoo Awards, Club Choice, Participant’s Choice and the Mayor’s Choice.

Each year, the Street Wizards brings in a crushed mystery car for participants to identify. This year’s crushed car, a 1978 Chevy Chevette 2-door hatch back, was successfully identified by Josh Camstead.

This year’s show also included kids Power Wheels entries for the first time ever, with recognition given to Jazity Cortez and her Ford Raptor, Hazel Wilson for her Jeep, and Lucas Sanders in his mini Tesla Cyber Truck.

The 2025 Mayor’s Choice, chosen by Thief River Falls Mayor Mike Lorenson, went to Lloyd Holy of Bemidji for his 1946 Ford Woodie.

The 2025 Street Wizards Club Choice went to Chris Rath of Cummings, N.D., for a 1946 CJ2A Willy’s Jeep.

The 2025 Participant’s Choice Award went to Andrew Shereck of Thief River Falls for his 1969 Chevy C10 pickup.

Wahoo Award winners were chosen by Street Wizards Club member Gary Tveiten, with each winner receiving a trophy designed by Tveiten. This year’s trophy depicted a drive-in movie theater with American Graffiti playing on the big screen.

“I personally want to thank all of you guys for coming out,” Tveiten said. “We made some pretty goofy awards and I hope you appreciate them.”

The Wahoo Awards tend to target cars that wouldn’t get as much attention at other car shows.
