Lila Dalager recorded a hat trick and Grace Knutson put together a two-goal afternoon to lead the Thief River Falls girls hockey team to an impressive 13-0 shutout victory over International Falls Saturday afternoon at the Huck Olson Memorial Civic Center.
“We played well together as a team,” Thief River Falls Head Coach Brett Johnson said following the 13-0 win. “I thought we moved the puck well. We were able to work on some things live in a game.”
Dalager completed her hat trick in the opening period, scoring goals at 43 seconds, 11:28 and 11:38.
Knutson got hot late in the contest, scoring goals at the 15:55 mark of the second period and 5:35 of the third period.
Also scoring goals for the Prowlers were Charleigh Hamre, Chloe Barrett, Parker Olsonawski, Alexis Sawatzke, Rowan Kennett, Addi Bienek, Elory Mossestad and Kiptyn Anderson.
Picking up assists for the Prowlers were Olsonawski (3), Grace Knutson (2), Kennett, Dalager (2), Halle Seeger, Anderson and Brynn Hennen.
Overall, 10 different Prowlers scored goals and eight more picked up at least one assist.
“It helps with confidence – again we are able to work on some offensive plays at live speed,” Johnson said.
The Broncos were held to just two shots on goal by a strong defensive effort. McKenna Carr turned away both shots on goal that she faced to pick up her second win of the year and first shutout.
“I thought we played in the face hockey,” Johnson said. “Not giving them any time and space to create any sort of offense.”
The Prowlers improved to 2-2 on the season and are off until Friday night when they host Sartell/Sauk Rapids-Rice in a 7:30 p.m.-scheduled contest. The Storm’n Sabres are 2-1 through three games in 2025-26.
