The Thief River Falls girls basketball team wrapped up the home portion of its schedule with games against Hawley and Barnesville, losing 76-51 to the Nuggets on Thursday night and 60-51 to the Trojans Saturday afternoon.

“We played really well against Barnesville,” said Head Coach Paula Praska. “Just too many mistakes. We had a really good first half against Hawley.”

The Prowlers hosted the Nuggets on Senior Night with senior Piper Greene, Braylee Wienen, Aniyah Fields and Ellie McDermott being honored before the game.

The Prowlers were able to play with the Nuggets for most of the first half, but a late run made the score 45-27 at the break. Greene went 3-for-3 from beyond the arc and scored 20 points overall to lead the Prowlers. Taylor Berg also reached double figures with a 17-point game.

The Nuggets were led by Emily Vettern with a game-high 21 points.

On Saturday, the Prowlers trailed 27-22 at the half but couldn’t close the gap over the final 18 minutes as the Trojans claimed the nine-point win. Anika Cossette drained five threes to score 15 for the Trojans and Aubryn Hinsz scored a game-high 21 points.

Berg and Greene were both in double figures for the Prowlers, with Berg scoring 20 and Greene scoring 13 in her final game at the Brickhouse.
