It’s here. Playground equipment for both Annie Street Park and Lions Park was delivered Thursday morning. Staff from the city of Thief River Falls and Greg Hanson Trucking, as well as council member Jason Aarestad, unloaded the equipment. Aarestad has been a driving force in improvements at Annie Street Park, a formerly vacant park near the Greenwood Street bridge. At Annie Street Park, a large piece of playground equipment containing slides and climbing apparatus will be installed. At Lions Park, a swing set, consisting of two tandem swings and two infant swings, will be replaced. A spinner will also be added. The city is seeking volunteers to help install the playground equipment at both parks later this spring. To volunteer, call Public Works Director Mark Borseth at 681-8506.
