A pair of school records were set Tuesday during the 37th Annual Quentin Jones Invitational held at Multi Events Center Track.
Thief River Falls junior Cole Johnson broke his own school record of 13 feet with an event-winning vault of 13 feet, four inches. Johnson failed to clear the bar on his first two attempts at 13-04, before making history on his third attempt.
Joining Johnson with a record-breaking performance was Marshall County Central senior Weston Bring. Bring, who pole vaults for the BGMR Freeze co-op, successfully matched Johnson vault for vault as they cleared 11 feet, six inches; 12 feet even; and 12 feet, six inches, before failing on all three attempts at 13 feet. His vault of 12-06 is a new program record for the BGMR/Northern Freeze co-op.
