In a battle of teams expected to contend for a Section 8AA titel, it was the homestanding Thief River Falls Prowlers who came out on top 12-0 in five innings over the Roseau Rams.

Both teams feature experienced lineups and both are expected to be in the hunt for a section championsip at the end of the season.

“For game two, that was probably as lights out as it could be,” said Thief River Falls Head Coach Carter Rogalla. “Alexa threw well, Huey came in and threw well. We had a couple hiccups defensively but responded well and got out of things.” Offensively, each kid had a really good at bat and a couple had multiple good at bats,” Rogalla said. “That’s a good team over there. As I told the girls, we beat them up pretty good today, but they will be there in the end.”

Thief River Falls scored at least one run in each of the four innings the team took an at bat.

Through two games, the Prowlers have showed both patience and power at the plate. Praska, Schwab and Haylie Rogalla hit home runs against Roseau, to go along with a blast by Lexi Huot in the opener against Red Lake Falls.

“We don’t have a lot of team speed,” Rogalla admitted. “The past few years we had some smaller kids and quicker kids. This year, we are a little bigger and stronger.”
