Community Center
The school board Independent School District #561 met in regular session on Thursday, November 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the community center. The following members were present: John Lovly, Neil Jensen, Joe Rubischko,Tim Hruby, Rozlynn Johnsrud and Leah Bothum. Also present: Superintendent Loberg, Principal Carlson, Business Manager Kelsie Steiger-Krein, GEA member Mrs. Amber Sundberg and Mrs.
Lois Anderson.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m by Lovly. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
A motion was made by Hruby, seconded by Rubischko, to approve the amended November 14, 2024, meeting agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Jensen, seconded by Lovly, to approve the October 2st, 2024 regular meeting minutes as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Hruby, seconded by Jensen, to approve payments for checks # 46791-46853 and wire payments as listed in report #3.1 A & B, as listed in report 3.1.1. Motion was carried unanimously.
Financial reports were reviewed. Superintendent Loberg reported the district shows an investment balance of $1,925,054.13 on October 31, 2024. (See reports #3.0 attached to the official board minutes).

Student Council Reports:
Principal Carlson reported that the Student Council held a Halloween party and they will be holding a blood drive on Wednesday, November 20th. Goodridge Education Association Report:
Mrs. Lois Anderson reported that conferences went well and there was good attendance. Mrs. Amber Sunberg reported next week they will be celebrating American Education week.

Instructional Reports:
Principal Carlson reported that conferences went good and were well attended.

New Business:
A motion was made by Rubischko, seconded by Bothum, to declare the Goodridge Senior Center as the combined polling place for the calendar year 2025. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Jensen, seconded by Johnsrud, to approve the following resolution:
RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS OF VOTES OF SCHOOL DISTRICT GENERAL ELECTION
BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of Independent School District No. 561, as follows:
1. It is hereby found, determined and declared that the general election of the voters of the district held on November 5th, 2024, was in all respects duly and legally called and held.
2. As specified in the attached Abstract and Return of Votes Cast, at said election on the election of (three) school board members for four year term vacancies on the board caused by expiration of term on the first Monday in January next following the general election as follows:
Tim Hruby – 402 Votes
Leah Bothum – 371 Votes
John Lovly- 323 Votes
Write-In – 32 Votes
3. Tim Hruby, Leah Bothum, and John Lovly, having received the highest number of votes, are elected to four year terms beginning the first Monday in January, 20
2024.
4. The school district clerk is hereby authorized to certify the results of the election to the county auditor of each county in which the school district is located in whole or in part.

I, the undersigned, being the duly qualified and acting Clerk of Independent School District No. 561 (Goodridge), State of Minnesota, do hereby certify that I have carefully compared the attached copy of the Abstract and Return of Votes Cast in the November 5th, 2024 election, with the original thereof on file and of record in my office and the same is a full, true and complete copy thereof.

A motion was made by Jensen, seconded by Hruby, to approve the Safety Committee Meeting Minutes as presented in report #8.3. Motion carried unanimously.
Personnel:
A motion was made by Bothum, seconded by Johnsrud, to approve the hire of Nick Kotrba, Community Ed Open Gym Supervisor. Motion carried unanimously.
Donations:
A motion was made by Hruby, seconded by Lovly, to approve the donations as listed in report #10.1. Motion carried unanimously.
Trustee Reports: None
Open Forum:
Member Lovly thanked the high school English and History classes for sending out Veterans Day cards to area Veterans to thank them for their service.
Member Hruby reported that he enjoyed coming to the school and eating lunch with his child and the class. Member Hruby inquired on the rotation of band instruments.
Administrative Reports:
Principal Carlson reported that the first quarter of the school year had gone well for staff and students.
Principal Carlson also reported that 66% of 7-12 kids were on the honor roll. Principal Carlson reported on the new Student of the Month and Charger Pride recognition for students. Principal Carlson also noted that the National Honor Society Tapping will be taking place later this month and commended students
applying for their volunteer hours.
Superintendent Loberg reported the building project is currently out for bids. Superintendent Loberg reported the fish house built by the Industrial Arts class is currently up for auction through McMullen’s Auctioneers. Superintendent Loberg also noted the Fall Sports banquet will be in Grygla on Monday, December 9th @ 7:00 p.m. Superintendent Loberg provided an update on the Girls Basketball Schedule and reported that Elementary Basketball will begin on November 16th.
The next regular meeting was set for Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.
