\"   Thief River Falls – Norman Wassink, 69, of Thief River Falls, died on Saturday, April 28, 2007, at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, N.D.
  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2 (today), at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Aaron Zuch officiating. Visistation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Urn bearers included Kent Wojahn and Todd Mack. Honorary urn bearers included all family and friends. Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River  Falls.
    Norman Alwood Wassink was born on January 25, 1938, in Verndale, to Albert and Goldie (Payne) Wassink. He grew up and attended country school and then graduated from Wadena  High School in 1956.
     He was united in marriage to Alice Reka Klever on March 28, 1958 in Henning at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. They made their home in Wadena. Norman worked for the Local Gas Company in Wadena from 1956-1965. In 1965, he began working for Intercity Gas Company in Thief  River Falls.  The family moved to Thief  River Falls in 1966. In 1977, he began a career in real estate, most currently with Generaux Realty.
     Norman enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was a member of Minnesota Association of Realtors, Lions Club, Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, St. John Church Council, Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, National Rifle Association and the Elks Club.
     He is survived by his wife Alice of Thief River Falls; three children,  Cheryl (Darrell) Couch of Plano, Texas; Deb (Brian) Liden of Thief River Falls; Pam (Lance) Maurer of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren; one brother; and five sisters. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.             A00003B2007MY02
