\"  Gatzke – Eunice Larson, 92, died on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Pioneer Memorial  Care Center in Erskine.
  Funeral services were held on Monday, May 7, at United Lutheran Church in Gatzke, with Pastor Katie Keller officiating. Casket bearers included Jim Sorter, Alan Severts, Gene Engen, Earle Walton, Tim Engelstad and Darrel Severts Interment was held at Riverside Cemetery, Middle River.
     Eunice Mildred Severts was born August 11, 1914, in Spruce  Valley Township, Marshall County,  the daughter of Henry and Annie (Fosterson) Severts. She was baptized at Faith Lutheran Church in Newfolden and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Thief Lake. She grew up and attended country school and Middle River School.
     On November 4, 1944, Eunice was united in marriage to Selmer Larson. Following their marriage, the couple had a cattle and grain farm near Gatzke. In 1952, they moved into Middle River and operated the diner for one year, then moved back to the farm. In 2001, Eunice entered Valley Home, Thief River Falls and in November 2003, she moved into Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine.
    Eunice was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church for many years and in her later years became a member of United Lutheran in Gatzke, held office in ELCW and had membership with Eagles Auxiliary for many years. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, embroidery, reading, gardening her vegetables and rose beds.
    She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
     Survivors include her daughter, Sheila (Ronnie) Peterson of Middle River; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mabel (John) Sorter of Thief River Falls;  and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Severts and Eunice Novak, both of Thief River Falls.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Selmer on August 22, 1980; parents, Henry and Annie Severts; sisters, Alma, Ida and Mary; and brothers, Selmer, Herman and George.
