Thief River Falls – Gerald “Jerry” Johnson, 68, died on Saturday, January 22, 2004 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.
  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 27, at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Honorary casket bearers included Jerry’s grandchildren. Interment will be at Holt Cemetery in Holt.
 Visitation will be held from  5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, (today) January 26, at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, with a 7 p.m. prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
 Gerald Henry Johnson was born March 8, 1936 on the family farm at Viking, the son of Harold and Edith (Lian) Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Newfolden. He grew up and attended school, graduating in 1955 from Newfolden High School.
 On December 15, 1956, Jerry was united in marriage to Marcy Leiran in Newfolden by Reverend Myhrer. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls. Jerry worked at Clark Station, Mobile Gas Station and Bridgeman’s.  Jerry and Marcy owned and operated the Mobil Bulk Plant, which they ran for 4 years. They then went to Midland Co-op and then to Tireland. Jerry retired in 1981 due to declining health.
 Jerry held membership in the Eagles Club, Thief River Falls. He enjoyed hunting, wood carving, leather work, 4-wheeling with his boys and camping. 
 Survived by wife, Marcy, Thief River Falls; five children, Danny (Lor), David (Shelly), Dwight (Shelly), Kevin (Sue) and Kent (Julie) Johnson all of Thief River Falls; 10 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Alton (Kathy) Johnson of Hamilton, Mont.; one half-sister, Shelly (Pete) Mai of Littlefork and half brother, George Lindbeck Jr. of California.
 He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter; his parents; sisters, Sidney and Judy Johnson; half-sister, Joy Lindbeck; and step-father, George Lindbeck.
