Red Lake Falls – Ruth Elvina Mosbeck, 91, of Red Lake Falls, died on January 22, 2005 in St. Paul.
  A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, at Black River Lutheran Church, 11 miles  southwest of St. Hilaire.
  Ruth Syversrud, the daughter of Knut E. and A. Elizabeth Syversrud, was born September 23, 1913 in east Pennington County. She grew up on a farm there, attended high schools in Oklee and Fertile, completed a year of teacher training at Bemidji State Teachers College, and taught in several country schools.
 Ruth married Elmer V. Larson in 1937. He died in 1939. In 1944 she moved to west Pennington County to teach at the Black River School. In 1947 she married Oscar E. Mosbeck, who died in 1991. Ruth continued to live on the family farm until 2000.
 Ruth was an active member of Black River Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, and making quilts for her grandchildren.
 Ruth is survived by a son, Virgil Larson and wife, Verena of St. Paul; two stepsons, Veral (June) Mosbeck and Donald (Ruth) Mosbeck of Red Lake Falls; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Borgen of Thief River Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
 Ruth was preceded in death by one stepson, Warren Mosbeck; one grandchild; five sisters and six brothers.
