    Thief River Falls – Blanche Palm, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls.
    A service to celebrate her life was held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Alex Amiot officiating. Graveside services followed at Ringbo Cemetery rural Holt.
    Blanche Olive Erickson was born January 6, 1929 in Marshall County, near Holt, the daughter of Oscar Frederik and Myrtle Isabelle (Knutson) Erickson. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. She attended Ringbo School for 8 years and graduated from Middle River High School, Middle River in 1947. Some of her friends and family called her Peach.
    Blanche worked as waitress, did factory work, worked in childcare at Discovery Place and was a volunteer at Challenger Head Start. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Kasey Sophia Erickson.
    Blanche is survived by a son, Gerald “Jerry” Erickson, Thief River Falls; a granddaughter, Kasey Sophia Erickson, Thief River Falls; brothers and sisters, Irene Molskness, Marlow Anderson, Delano Erickson, Garner Erickson, Donald Erickson, Wavel Erickson, June Sipkens, and Grace Olson, along with many nieces and nephews.
    She is preceded in death by parents, sister, Carmen Schultz and brothers, Oliver, Harold, Galen and Roy Erickson.
