Ruth Binkley passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 with her family by her side after a courageous battle with a terminal illness.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2019 at Bethel Lutheran Church with Darien Northup officiating. A time of sharing will be 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Bethel Lutheran Church, Bemidji with a prayer service to follow. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Nebish Community Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.
Ruth Marie Kaasa was born in Bemidji on October 11, 1953 to Orben and Alma Kaasa. Ruth was raised in Bemidji and attended Bemidji Schools. She married Ernest Binkley on April 1, 1972 and started a family in Puposky. They had four children and cared for many others. Ruth was passionate about caring for children and making sure they were well cared for.
Ruth loved going for four wheeler rides with family and friends and attending demo derbies. Having family gatherings was something Ruth enjoyed. She also loved her beautiful flowers, sewing and being a homemaker. Ruth became the bookkeeper for Binkley Logging in 1985. She enjoyed collecting angels and volunteering at St. Philips Church in her spare time.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Ernie Binkley; daughter Kristi Binkley; sons: Kenneth Binkley and Kyle (Amanda) Binkley; daughter-in-law, Renee Binkley; along with seven grandchildren: Joseph Jarvi, Matthew Jarvi, Kelsey Jarvi, Garret Binkley, Kylee Binkley, Bristol Binkley and Sierra Binkley.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Orben and Alma Kaasa; mother and father-in-law, Bob and Evelyn Binkley and her son, Kevin Binkley.
