Thief River Falls – Thomas Miller, of Thief River Falls, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at McIntosh Senior Living in McIntosh.
Thomas “Tom” Lindet Miller was born on May 23, 1947, son of the late Lindet and Esther (Doran) Miller in Thief River Falls. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. He attended St. Bernard’s Catholic School through the 8th grade and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1966.
On March 11, 1969 he entered the US Marine Corp and served his country until his honorable discharge on March 10, 1971.
On November 8, 1969 he was united in marriage to Margaret (Marge) Berberich at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls, where they raised their children, Renee, Jana, Jennifer and Kyle. Tom worked at Arctic Enterprises and later at the American Legion. He worked 31 years for Jamar North Rentals and drove school bus for School District 564 for 32 years, which he enjoyed so much.
Tom enjoyed hunting geese, ducks and most of all deer hunting. Ken and Kathy always welcomed Tom into their home during hunting season. He loved being grandpa to Bowen and Kimberlee. He rode motorcycle to various places all over North Dakota and Minnesota with his buddies. He made a special effort to attend motorcycle events that raised money for charity.
He was a member of the American Legion, the Eagles and Knights of Columbus.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marge of Thief River Falls; children, Renee of Bemidji, Kyle (Danielle) Miller of Thief River Falls; grandchildren, Bowen and Kimberlee Miller of Thief River Falls; siblings, Dick Miller of Lakeway, TX and Kathi Mirmontes of Philipps, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by best friend, Ken (Kathy) Beito and their children: and Becky (Bob) Dostal, Ben (Michelle) Beito; their grandchildren, Nick and Aaron Dostal and Alec Beito; and special friend of the family, Kathy Holmstrom.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Lindet and Esther Miller; daughters, Jana and Jennifer Miller; brother, Roger Miller; mother- and father-in-law, Leander and Mayme Berberich; several cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2023 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, with Monsignor Timothy McGee officiating. Burial will be held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, 5 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, and also one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
