Virginia – Terry Allen Haugen, 68, passed away on February 22, 2025, at Essentia Health in Virginia, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 31, 1957, to Floyd and Dorothy (Norby) Haugen in Virginia, Terry’s life was marked by his dedication to family, work, and community.
Terry attended grade school in Parkville, MN and high school in Mt. Iron, MN. He married is former wife, Kathy Johnsrud, and together they raised three wonderful children Jared, Jeremy, and Patricia.
Throughout his early years, Terry held various jobs and showcased numerous talents, including painting, working at a gas station, assisting local farmers, and building calf shelters. He also had a passion for racing stock cars. Terry later joined Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls, where he worked for several years until health conditions necessitated his retirement. After retiring, Terry moved to the Iron Range, where he remained until his passing.
Growing up, Terry cherished time spent at his father’s hobby farm in Trail. He will be fondly remembered for his love of hunting, fishing and various outdoor activities, as well as his enjoyment of attending auctions. Terry’s quick wit and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Terry is survived by his sons, Jeremy (Bonnie) Haugen and Jared (Kristina) Haugen; his daughter, Patricia (Scott) Panek; his sisters, Sherly (Andy) Achman and Brenda (Joe) Buria; and his brother, Steve (Angie) Haugen. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Caroline Cline, Samuel Haugen, Harrison Haugen, Landon Haugen, Daniel Nygaard, Hannah Nygaard, Simon Ngaard, Abigail Nygaard, Eli Nygaard, Elli Nygaard, Emily Bren, Ivan Bren, Olivia Bren, Axel Bren; and his great-grandchildren, Lylah Oman and Ruth Nygaard; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Haugen.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the
11 a.m. Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Landmark Funeral Home in Virginia.
