Lengby – Brock Hemmesch, age 26, of Lengby, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at his home.
Brock Theodore Hemmesch was born November 24, 1998, in Grand Forks, ND. Brock grew up at Island Lake in Lengby, and attended Fosston Schools, graduating in 2017. After high school, Brock attended Sheridan College and joined the Sheridan Rodeo team. After college, he spent two years out in Kremling, CO learning some hands-on trade work. After the passing of his stepfather (Larry Lepier), Brock moved home with his sister (Marissa) to help their mother (Tami LePier), run the businesses in town.
Brock enjoyed any sport he could try and get his hands on much like his father Milo did —water, land or mountains. Many of Brock’s favorite memories were spent on the water, on the trails, on the fields, or in the mountains, but most recently, he has gotten back into golf. Many, like his mother, won’t forget that hole-in-one he had in Fosston and if you knew Brock, he wouldn’t let you forget it either.
As many of you know, Brock had a special bond with his sister that resonated deeply with those around them. Their relationship was a beautiful example of sibling love, one that many people found truly heartwarming to witness. It’s not common for siblings to live and work together in their late twenties, but they managed to navigate it with such grace and ease. Brock always felt a strong sense of responsibility to look after his older sister, and he embraced that role wholeheartedly, showcasing the depth of his love and care for her.
Brock is survived by his mother, Tami LePier; sister, Marissa Hemmesch (Weston); stepbrothers, Brandon (Trista) LePier and Bryan (Sara) LePier; stepsister, Brittney (Kyle) Djernes; grandmother, Ladawn; uncles, Chad (Sara), Brent (Amanda), Jeremy (Danielle), Mark Hemmesch, Mitch (Connie), Mike (Gwen), Mary (John); and many cousins whom he loved.
Brock was preceded in death by his father, Milo Hemmesch; stepfather, Larry LePier; grandparents, Lawrence and Freida Hemmesch; grandfather, Terry Olson and grandfather, Robert Kleinvachter; cousin, Corbin Olson; friend, Dylan Grant; and friend, Josh Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025, in the Fosston High School, main gymnasium, with the Rev. John Ragan officiating. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the high school. Arrangements are with Carlin Family Funeral Service of Fosston and messages of condolence may be shared at www.carlinfuneral.com.
