Thief River Falls – With faith in God’s promise of eternal life, we celebrate the life of Mary Beth Hruby, who was called home to the Lord on April 24, 2026 at the age of 64.
Mary Beth was born on August 22, 1961 in St Paul to Albert and Jane (McNamara) Olson. After graduating from Hill-Murray High School in 1979, Mary Beth attended St. Scholastica where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1983.
Her career soon brought her to Thief River Falls where she met the love of her life, Wade Hruby, in the Fall of 1984 and they were united in marriage in 1985. She shared a beautiful life with Wade, and together they raised two sons, Benjamin Wade and Issiah Albert.
Mary Beth lived her life faithfully and wholeheartedly. She devoted over 40 years to physical therapy, where she was deeply passionate about her work and the people she served. Her work was more than a profession – it was a ministry of care. She served and encouraged countless families, often caring for multiple generations with the same compassion and dedication.
She was deeply involved in her church community, teaching confirmation classes – including teaching her own sons – and played an important role in Roseau’s Moms in Prayer group. Throughout her life, she faithfully lifted countless children and families up in prayer. Above all, Mary Beth cherished time spent with loved ones. Her faith guided her through life and was reflected in the kindness, compassion, and strength she shared with others.
Mary Beth is survived by her loving husband, Wade Hruby; sons, Benjamin Wade (Chasidy) Hruby and Issiah (Kalicia) Hruby; cherished grandchildren, Ian, Tristan, Aarielle, and Enelye Hruby, and Kora, Odin, and Hudson Hruby; mother, Jane Olson; sisters, Lynda (John) LaCasse and Sharon (Steve) Schneider; along with many other beloved family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Olson; father- and mother-in-law, Stanley and Alice Hruby; sisters-in-law, Karen Hruby and Gwen Hruby.
