St. Hilaire – Lucas David Dingman of St. Hilaire, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the age of 37.
A celebration of Luke’s life will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Eagle’s Club in Thief River Falls.
Lucas David Dingman was born on February 22, 1980 in Jackson, the son of David Dingman and Marce (Simmons) Sauve. He was baptized at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Jackson and later confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.
Luke attended and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls. Following high school, he spent a few years living and working in Wyoming, returning to Minnesota in the early 2000’s. He worked in the Thief River Falls area and began a career at Arctic Cat in 2005. He continued his work there until the time of his death, where Luke was a stickler for his personal dress code of red and black flannel.
On October 20, 2007, Luke was united in marriage to Jessie Johnsrud at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.  Together they began the journey of their dreams at their homestead in rural St. Hilaire. On February 8, 2011, they welcomed their first daughter, Indiana Sue Dingman and on October 7, 2017, they welcome their second daughter, Piper Ann Dingman.
Luke’s life always centered around Jessie and their girls. The day each one of their daughters was born was the proudest moments of his life.
Luke was passionate about woodworking, golf, and anything that included the great outdoors, and he especially loved landscaping and yardwork at their dream homestead.
Luke was one of a kind and left an impression on anyone that was lucky enough to come into his life.  He loved the outdoors and embraced every moment he had with passion and joy.
Everyone Luke knew was drawn to him for so many reasons. You never knew what was going to happen but knew it would be fun.  That’s the way he was. He loved to be with family and friends. Every one of them was special to him.
Luke will be remembered in our hearts, carried in our thoughts, and always that amazing part of our lives that can never be forgotten.
Luke was a loving husband to Jessie; father to Indiana and Piper; son of Marce and Larry Sauve and David and Dawn Dingman; grandson of Adeline and Darryl Simmons and Carol and Don Dingman; brother to Hollie Dingman, Kaleb Dingman, Karsen Dingman, Kaia Dingman, Jason (Stacey) Sauve, and Adam Sauve; son-in-law to Larry and Suzette Johnsrud; uncle to Riley Seufert, Bennett Sauve, Taylor Sauve, Ellie and Ava Delage, Jamisen, Weston, Taylor, and Callie Wilson; brother-in-law to Cally (Mark) Delage, Jim (Jerilyn) Wilson, Kyle Johnsrud, and Kent Johnsrud.
Luke is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Darryl Simmons; paternal grandmother, Carol Dingman; and his annoying and sweet beagle, Red Barons.
