Ada – Margaret Mary Jacobson, 97, Ada, formerly of Hendrum, died on Friday, April 14, 2017, at Mission Court Assisted Living in Ada.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 24, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hendrum. Burial was held at St. Pauli Lutheran Cemetery in rural Hendrum.
She was born on September 8, 1919, to Theodore and Mathilda (Versdahl) Natwick in Leonard, ND. Margaret attended school in Leonard, ND and Ada.
On August 2, 1941, Margaret was united in marriage to Rueben Jacobson at his parent’s rural home in Hendrum with Rev. J.J. Jacobson officiating. They lived in Hendrum and were blessed with four children: Jerald, Barbara, Ronald, and Deb.
Margaret cared for her family until the children were older before beginning work at the Hendrum Post Office as a clerk and eventually being named Hendrum Post Master in 1979. She retired in 1988.
Margaret cherished family gatherings and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always brought a special sparkle to her eyes.  She and Rueben enjoyed traveling, especially with family.
Over the years, Margaret was blessed with many wonderful friends and warmly anticipated coffee time with her “Coffee Group”. Hendrum church and community life was like an extension of her family.  She loved and cared about many residents over the years.
Margaret loved lutefisk and lefse; she fed the birds and was an avid bird watcher, weather facts keeper and an excellent knitter and crocheter. Watching the Minnesota Twins, Days Of Our Life and news programs interested her.  She kept her mind sharp by reading, using her wit and being as independent as possible.
For her 90th and 95th birthday, Margaret was given a ride around Hendrum on a Harley motorcycle.  She will be missed by all.  Blessed be the memory of Margaret Jacobson.
